This course provides critical health and safety training for anyone who may handle or transport dangerous goods according to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. Unlike regulations in the United States which only apply to hazardous materials in commerce, Canada's TDG regulations apply to everyone – even for goods such as gasoline, oxygen and propane for personal use.

This course trains participants to understand Canada’s nation-wide workplace hazard communication standards. The updated WHMIS includes: <ul> <li>New hazard classes and rules about classification</li> <li>A new standardized format for Safety Data Sheets (previously known as Material Safety Data Sheets)</li> <li>New label requirements</li> <li>New WHMIS symbols/pictograms</li> </ul>

This course examines how occupational health and safety laws across Canada and within British Columbia address the issue of working alone or in isolation, and outlines practical safety measures to protect workers from the associated hazards.
