Lockout/ Tagout Course Overview
The term Lockout-Tagout refers to specific practices and procedures that safeguard workers from the unexpected energizing or start-up of machinery and equipment, or the release of hazardous energy during service or maintenance activities. This course explains the importance of lockout-tagout in protecting the health and safety of workers.
Employers should train all workers in the basic concepts of hazardous energy control, including energy isolation, locking and tagging of control devices, verifying de-energization, and clearing danger points before re-energizing equipment. Workers whose duties involve installation, maintenance, service, or repair work should be trained in the detailed control procedures required for their particular equipment.
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:

- Understand when Lockout-Tagout should be used in the workplace

Evaluation and Certification
Each unit concludes with a test. A score of 100% is needed to progress to the next unit and complete your training. If you do not pass the test you can review the material as needed. Please note that every test is generated through an automated test bank to ensure that each version is unique.
