Workplace bullying and harassment can happen to anyone, at any workplace. Recent changes to the Workers Compensation Act address workplace bullying and harassment, and it’s important that every worker, manager, and supervisor is aware of the law and policies.

This online session educates participants about bullying and harassment legislation and explains how the law protects workers from this type of behaviour. Participants are provided with examples of both respectful and disrespectful conduct, and learn what their duties are with regard to preventing, recognizing, addressing, and reporting incidents that involve bullying and harassment.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define workplace bullying and harassment
  • Provide examples of behaviours that do, and do not, constitute bullying and harassment
  • Recognize the adverse impact workplace bullying and harassment has on people and on the workplace itself
  • Describe the duties of employers, supervisors and workers with respect to the Workers Compensation Act legislation
  • Respond to situations involving bullying and harassment

BC Bill 14: Bullying & Harassment - How to Recognize & Respond Course Format

This is a self-paced online course. Participants may leave and resume the course at any time. Course duration will depend on the participant and any prior knowledge of the subject-matter. Average course completion time is 45 minutes.

Evaluation and Certification

Participants must demonstrate their understanding of the course content by obtaining a score of 100% on a multiple choice test. Participants who do not achieve 100% can review the module content and re-try as necessary to complete the course. Please note that test questions are randomly selected from a test bank, making each test unique. A printable certificate is available upon successful completion of the course.
