BC Bill 14: Bullying & Harassment. Meeting Employer requirements
Overview
In November 2013, British
Columbia’s Workers Compensation Act was amended to include policies which
specifically address workplace bullying and harassment. This information
session provides an overview of the new legislation and what employers need to
do to meet these new requirements.
Learning
Objectives
Upon completion of this
session, employers will be able to:

Define
workplace bullying and harassment

Provide
examples of behaviours that do, and do not, constitute bullying and harassment
·
Recognize
the adverse impact workplace bullying and harassment has on people and on the
workplace itself
·
Describe
the duties of employers, supervisors and workers with respect to the new Workers Compensation Act legislation
·
Outline
the nine steps employers need to take in order to comply with the law
Course
Format
This is a self-paced online
course. Participants may leave and resume the course at any time. Course duration
will depend on the participant and any prior knowledge of the subject-matter.
Average completion time is 30 minutes.
Evaluation
and Certification
Participants
must demonstrate their understanding of course content by obtaining a score of
100% on a multiple choice test. Those who do not pass may revisit the course material
and re-test as many times as needed. Please note that test questions are
selected from a test bank to ensure that each testing experience is
unique. A printable certificate is available upon successful
completion of the course.
